Completed Activities for 2010

  • June 5, 2010 @ 5:00 PM - 35th Anniversary Celebration of SANDRA IncorporationGiovanni's Restaurant, 9353 Clairemont Mesa Blvd.  This event took take place in lieu of our first Thursday of the month membership meeting.  SANDRA member Art, W3ALL walked away with a brand new dual-band HT.

  • Membership meeting Thursday, March 4, 2010.  Guest speaker was Steve Early-AD6VI, San Diego (SDG) ARRL Section Manager.  Steve provided the membership with a detailed overview of the city planning commission meeting on February 25 and how local hams can help defeat this amendment.  SANDRA has updated its public notice page to include city councilmember contact information to encourage local hams to let their voice be heard on the matter.  SANDRA will continue to work closely with our ARRL representative and stand with our sister clubs in San Diego to help defeat this amendment.

Completed Activities for 2009

  • Membership Meeting and Christmas Pot Luck -  The winners of the Wouxun KG-UVD1P dual-band handheld radios:  Michael Todd, K6WD and Jim McCormick, K6UMA.

  • Annual Meeting - Thursday, November 5 at 7:00 PM - annual election of officers.

  • October 10, 2009:  SANDRA participated in the first Ham Radio Outlet Amateur Radio Appreciation Day.  Club officers who participated:  WD6APP, NF6E, W2IRI, WA6OSB and K6RLV

  • October 1, 2009:  Nominations for office closed at the end of the board meeting. 

  • September 19, 2009:  An all volunteer crew participated in Hi Pass repeater site brush clearing and maintenance.  Volunteers included:  W6CAW, NF6E, K6GAO, KI6GRN, W2IRI, N6JOJ, KI6KTY, WA6LNF, AF6MX, KG6NDX, K6RLV and KG6TDP. SANDRA appreciates everyone's hard work.

  • September 3, 2009:   Third SANDRA membership meeting of the year, held at the San Diego County Education Center.  Nominations for office were opened and will continue until the close of the October board of directors meeting.

  • June 13, 2009:  Second SANDRA membership meeting and club picnic at Lindberg Park.

  • March 5, 2009:  First SANDRA membership meeting of the year, held at the San Diego County Education Center.  The meeting featured a video provided by W2IRI entitled, "The ARRL Goes to Washington" and was followed by a lively discussion and roundtable between the board and the members.

Completed Activities for 2008

  • December 4, 2008:  Christmas party, pot luck and raffle.  KD6ZNU won the Yaesu VX-170 HT, and everyone won a tummy full of food!

  • November 6, 2008:  Annual meeting of the association and election of officers

  • September 4, 2008:  Ratification of changes and amendments to the SANDRA bylaws.  Nominations for office begin.

  • June 14, 2008:  Mt. Otay site clean-up; cleared brush and weeds to create a fire break.  Thank you to everyone who volunteered for this important project.  A special thank you to Filamars for their outstanding contribution.

  • June 5, 2008:  Second SANDRA membership meeting of the year, held at the San Diego County Education Center, room 306.  This meeting featured a presentation on the restoration of USS MIDWAY, highlighting radio room renovations and the Navy MARS station.  Guest speaker was Jose Garza, AB6RM.

  • March 6, 2008:  First SANDRA membership meeting of the year, held at the Sizzler restaurant in El Cajon.
